Rotary Kiln Refractory Lining
Long Service Life
Zoned Customized Solution
One–Stop Service
Rotary kiln refractory lining, also called kiln lining, is a protective layer that isolates the kiln shell and material inside the kiln. AGICO Cement supplies rotary kiln refractory lining suitable for rotary cement kilns, rotary lime kilns, and other high-temperature rotary kilns. Our lining systems help reduce brick spalling and liner wear, reducing maintenance costs.
Lining Zoning & Material Selection
Lining performance depends not only on the material itself, but also on selecting the right materials for the different zones, because it is the key to extending the lifespan of the rotary kiln refractory lining.
Rotary kiln refractory is divided into rotary kiln brick and rotary kiln refractory castable. Meanwhile, according to the temperature, the rotary kiln is divided into the preheating zone, the transition zone, the burning zone, and the cooling zone. AGICO CEMENT offers customized lining solutions to give you more choices.

Rotary Kiln Brick Lining

Preheating Zone
- Common brick types: alkali-resistant high-alumina brick, spalling-resistant high-alumina brick.
- Material characteristics: strong resistance to alkali penetration, good thermal stability.

Transition Zone
- Common brick types: silicon-mullite brick, magnesia-alumina spinel brick.
- Material characteristics: high temperature resistance, strong spalling resistance.

Burning Zone
- Common brick types: magnesia-alumina spinel brick, magnesia-iron spinel brick.
- Material characteristics: easily forms a stable coating to protect the lining.

Cooling Zone
- Common brick types: phosphate-bonded high-alumina brick, corundum composite brick.
- Material characteristics: resistant to mechanical impact and spalling.
Rotary Kiln Refractory Castable Lining
Kiln Outlet
- Steel fiber reinforced castable
- Main characteristics: strong toughness, resists cracking caused by thermal shock and mechanical impact.

Preheat Zone
- Alkali-resistant castable
- Main characteristics: effectively resists alkali attack, while providing stable thermal insulation performance.

Emergency Repair
- Fast-drying castable
- Main characteristics: fast setting and hardening, and significantly reduces kiln shutdown time for maintenance.

Applications of Rotary Kiln Refractory Lining
Cement Rotary Kilns
The refractory lining in the cement rotary kiln can withstand scouring of high-temperature clinker with excellent thermal stability.
Lime Rotary Kilns
Designed lining to resist the friction and erosion caused by large stone blocks with reliable abrasion resistance and thermal shock performance.
Metallurgical Rotary Kilns
Suitable for strong resistance to chemical corrosion and wear needs in metallurgical processes. Does not soften or collapse at high temperatures.

Installation Guide
The rotary kiln refractory lining installation decides the stability of the overall rotary kiln operation, service life, and maintenance cost. Even if using the excellent refractory, if the installation is not reasonable, it still may result in broken bricks, damage, cracking, and other problems.
Surface inspection
Full inspection of the kiln shell before the installation, clear the inside of the kiln, and make sure the kiln body surface is clean.
Proper masonry construction
A reasonable masonry structure is conducive to maintaining the overall stability of the lining. The top of the rotary brick lining must be attached closely.
Reserve expansion gap
Rotary brick lining expansion joints must be reserved to fit the thermal expansion under high-temperature environments.
Choose the correct materials for different areas
The different working conditions result in the rotary kiln refractory being different. Therefore, choosing the right refractory is an important way.
