Roller hearth kiln is a continuous roller furnace, similar to a pusher kiln. According to the three processes of preheating, firing, and cooling of products in the roller kiln, the roller kiln can also be divided into three zones: preheating zone, firing zone, and cooling zone. Due to the fact that the outer dimensions of the roller kiln are the same throughout the kiln, the roller kiln is generally divided according to the product temperature: 850-900 ℃ is used as the pre-heating zone, 850-900 ℃ is used as the firing zone for porcelain (including insulation), and the remaining part is used as the cooling zone.

Working principle: the materials are transported through a roller conveyor and heated by pre heated air at the entrance of the roller kiln, which then enters the kiln for rotation and rolling. At the same time, smoke will pass through the gaps between the materials, gradually heating them up and then being discharged through the kiln tube. Due to the sealed transportation of materials on the roller conveyor, the roller kiln provides excellent heating conditions for chemically reactive and heat sensitive materials. At the same time, the structure of the roller kiln also has the function of thermal insulation, which can effectively control the high temperature inside the heating furnace, ensuring the quality of products and processing efficiency.

  1. The roller conveyor furnace can be divided into a kiln body, feeding roller conveyor, discharging roller conveyor, main transmission system, heating elements, and control cabinet.
  2. The main transmission system adopts variable frequency stepless speed regulation and helical gear transmission, with a wide speed range and smooth transmission.
  3. The main drive motor has functions such as phase loss protection, overcurrent protection, and motor fault alarm.
  4. Heating elements can be selected from resistance wires, silicon carbon rods, or silicon molybdenum rods.
  5. Multi-point intake-assisted oxygen sintering can improve the quality of product sintering.

Temperature control system

  1. The temperature control instrument has functions such as multi-stage programmable, continuous PID adjustment, output limiting, over temperature alarm, couple breaking alarm, and temperature compensation. The program will automatically stop after running and no one is required to be on duty.
  2. Linear current output, trigger phase shift triggering anti-parallel bidirectional thyristor, precise temperature control accuracy.
  3. Alarm action:
    ● Over temperature alarm: When the temperature inside the furnace reaches the alarm temperature, the power supply will be automatically cut off and the alarm prompt light will be on.
    ● Couple breakage alarm: If the thermocouple is open circuit, the instrument will alarm and automatically cut off the power.
  4. The control system is installed in an independent standard GGD control cabinet.
  5. The control panel is equipped with temperature control instruments, ammeters, rotary switches, sound and light alarms, frequency converters, transmission control buttons, and other electrical appliances.

Roller hearth kiln VS tunnel kiln

Firstly, tunnel kiln only refers to trolley-type tunnel kiln, with a novel name of pusher kiln. The pusher kiln directly or indirectly places sintered products on high-temperature and wear-resistant push plates, and the pushing system moves the products placed on the push plates according to the process requirements of the products, completing the sintering process of the products in the furnace. Due to the fact that the trolley of the push plate kiln still needs to go through the process of heating and cooling, which wastes some heat, its energy-saving effect and temperature loss are worse than those of the roller kiln.

Secondly, the roller kiln uses fire-resistant plates to directly support the round rods that roll in place. Therefore, it does not require a large amount of heat to be absorbed by each trolley like the trolley-type tunnel kiln, and its air sealing is much better than that of the tunnel kiln. The energy-saving (energy consumption reduction) effect of roller kiln is better than that of tunnel kiln. One of the biggest defects of roller kiln is that if it is fired into high-temperature reduced products, the quality requirements for round rods are high. Generally, silicon carbide rods are used, which can solve the problem of firing high-temperature ceramic products below 1350 ° C.
