equipment info

For huge rotary kilns, in addition to some basic structure of the rotary kiln itself, its corresponding accessories are also particularly important. In order to provide higher service quality to our respected customers, our company also has rich experience in the production and sales of rotary kiln parts such as kiln support roller bearing,s etc,. This blog mainly introduces the five most basic and common accessories. We hope it will further help you when you are wondering how to proceed with further investment.

Kiln Shell

The kiln shell is the main body of the rotary kiln, it is usually 30-150 meters long and cylindrical with 3-5 rolling rings in the middle. The cylinder is mostly processed into 3-10 sections by the factory, and then welded by large trucks after being transported to the destination. The steel plate of the kiln shell with a thickness of about 40mm is the most intuitive accessory that we can notice when we observe the rotary kiln. Besides the above general size, our company can produce other choices for multiple situation such as 18、20、25、28、29、32 (mm).

 Kiln Tyre

We can also see the kiln tyre from the outside near the rotary kiln shell, which is cast by molten steel. The kiln tyre of the kiln body is slightly thicker than the other parts of the kiln body steel plate due to load-bearing. The kiln tyre is set on the kiln shell, however, it is not fixed to the kiln shell. An iron plate is added between the kiln shell and the tire ring to keep a certain gap between the tire ring and the kiln shell and it is worth mentioning that the gap cannot be too large or too small. If the gap is too small, the expansion of the kiln shell will be limited by the kiln tire, and the kiln bricks will be easily damaged. If the gap is too large, the relative movement and friction between the kiln shell and the tire will be more severe, and the elliptical deformation of the kiln shell will be more serious. Lubricating oil is usually added between the two. We can estimate the degree of elliptical deformation of the kiln shell through the relative movement between the kiln shell and the tire. In addition, there is a difference in thermal conductivity between the kiln shell and the kiln tire. An external windmill must be used to help the kiln shell dissipate heat and balance the temperature difference between the two. Otherwise, the expansion of the kiln shell will be limited by the kiln tire. Our company will customize the dimensions and various issues that need to be noticed for you, and provide you with satisfactory results when purchasing supporting facilities.

 Kiln Girth Gear

Both the kiln girth gear and the kiln tire are similar as rings, but the kiln girth gear is nested in a ring outside the kiln shell and has different functions. The rotary kiln needs to rotate to fully burn the raw materials in the kiln. In this case, the equipment that drives the rotary kiln is extremely important. Rotary kiln girth gears are the parts that officially undertake this important task.

Kiln Support Roller

The huge weight of the rotary kiln also requires additional support accessories to assist. Our company has high-quality kiln support rollers and bearings. This ensures smooth and stable operation of the kiln shell and gears.

Kiln Refractory Bricks

Fire bricks have many different names in many cases, such as refectory brick, fireproof brick, or firebrick, but these names all point to one thing. It is a block of ceramic material used in lining furnaces, kilns, fireboxes, and fireplaces. A refractory brick is built primarily to withstand high temperatures but will also usually have a low thermal conductivity for greater energy efficiency. Despite bricks not so apparent as other larger parts, they still play a significant role in a rotary kiln. There are three main functions: Firstly, reducing the chemical erosion and mechanical wear of the cylinder by high-temperature gases and materials and protecting the kiln shell. Moreover, acting as a heat transfer medium, kiln bricks can absorb part of the heat from the gas and transfer it to the material through different conduction and radiation methods. Lastly, kiln bricks can also be used for thermal insulation, reducing heat loss in the kiln body, etc. Of course, under different production requirements, the material of bricks needs to be adjusted; therefore, our company can provide several types of material, such as high-alumina brick, clay refractory brick, corundum mullite brick, etc.

A high-yield, high-quality, and perfect rotary kiln requires the collaboration of many parts. Our company’s rich production experience and tailor-made services can provide you with worry-free protection.
